The Melrose Family YMCA is a community charitable organization. Our goal is to improve the quality of life in our community. A lack of ability to pay for the Y's services will not prevent participation in any of our wide and varied programs. The YMCA provides scholarships for those struggling financially who would otherwise not be able to use the opportunities and facilities available at the Melrose Family YMCA.

It is through the combined efforts of the YMCA and your donations, as members of our community, that this is accomplished. Each year the demand for scholarships gets greater. The demand can often outstrip the resources. Please join us by sponsoring a deserving child's fun at summer day camp, a family's after-school care, a youngster's participation in youth sports or swimming lessons for a brother and sister.

This year's People Helping People Campaign will be our most important ever. We're counting on you just as the families in need of scholarships count on us. Our fundraising success comes from the $10, $25 and $50 contributions made by caring people just like you.

The Melrose Family YMCA granted over $135,000 in scholarships to families and program participants last year. These are people who are struggling to make ends meet either because of illness, loss of a job or some other circumstance that effects their financial stability.

Your Donations At Work

$25.......provides a Beginner Exercise class for a 4th or 5th grader

$50.......provides a music class for a toddler and their parent

$138.....provides a Teen Membership for one year

$200.....provides a Swim Team membership for a child 6-10 years old

$373.....provides a transportation and care to our After School Program for one month

$500.....provides a Family (with 1 adult) Membership for one year

$1000...provides a Infant Care at our Childcare Center for one month

The United Way will send the Melrose Family YMCA your donation but only if you specifically request that it goes to #3686. Please direct your United Way contribution to us by using our agency number when you donate.

Our program fees and memberships only cover our operating expenses. All financial aid for those in need must be raised by the Y. Please consider donating to the Melrose Family YMCA, the charity that most helps the community in which you live or work. We rely on the goodwill of people like you to help those who turn to us.

If your company participates in a matching gift program, please send along a form to us from your Personnel Office.
